Hon Shin Zen is a Zen Meditation Sanctuary

in Southern Portugal,

run by Nanda Nina Lynch, a Rinzai Zen priest.

"Hon Shin" means "true heart." At Hon Shin Zen, we create a sanctuary for meditation—

both in-person and online. Using meditation, Mondo Zen koans, the Work of Byron Katie,

and supportive counselling, we guide individuals on their journey

to uncover their true essence as beings of love and light.

Together, we can find the unchanging place of pure awareness, where everything begins.

From this place, we can live a peaceful life.

Events

We sit zazen meditation online every Thursday morning at 7am GMT

We sit for 30 minutes and then have a brief check-in after the sit to help us feel connected.

We have a weekly in-person sitting of zazen meditation

in our Zendo at Brejo, Colmeeiros, São Martinho das Amoreiras, Portugal.

We do two sessions of sitting separated by 15 minutes of movement.

After the sitting there may be tea and talk for those that wish to stay.
